Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is one of the first hospitals in Palm Beach County offering minimally invasive heart surgery as a treatment option for patients suffering from heart valve disease. Unlike traditional open heart surgery where the breast bone needs to be surgically separated, minimally invasive valve surgery is performed through a small incision between the ribs.

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Announces Appointment of Denise Kvapil to Chief Nursing and Operations Officer

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.- Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center announces the appointment of Denise Kvapil, MSN, BSN, to Chief Nursing and Operations Officer. In her role, Kvapil will oversee nursing administration, daily hospital operations, and ancillary services to include environmental services, food and nutrition, security, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary and rehab services.

“We are very pleased to have Denise in her new role and continue to provide leadership for both our nursing and now operations,” said Teresa Urquhart, chief executive officer for Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. “We feel confident that her passion for healthcare, and nursing experience, will be an invaluable asset to our hospital.”

Prior to her appointment, Kvapil served as the Chief Nursing Officer at the hospital. In her role, she was responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center’s nursing departments. She ensured the hospital’s tradition of delivering high quality patient care is, and will continue to be maintained.

Before joining the team at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Kvapil served as the Vice President of Patient Care Operations / Chief Nursing Officer at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. She has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field and hospital administration. Kvapil is a graduate of Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey, and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from South University.
