Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is one of the first hospitals in Palm Beach County offering minimally invasive heart surgery as a treatment option for patients suffering from heart valve disease. Unlike traditional open heart surgery where the breast bone needs to be surgically separated, minimally invasive valve surgery is performed through a small incision between the ribs.

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center an “A” for Patient Safety

Apr 24, 2018
Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (April 24th 2018) – By achieving an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center receives recognition as the only hospital in Palm Beach County, and one of the safest hospitals in the United States. The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, assigns “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” and “F” letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provides the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S.

“With our high standard of safety and commitment to quality care at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, we are so proud to achieve this distinguished award,” said chief executive officer, Dianne Goldenberg. “This designation is a testament to our patients that we are providing them with the highest level of safety and care every day when they come into our hospital.”

“Hospitals like this that earn an A have demonstrated their commitment to their patients and their community,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I congratulate Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for its safety excellence, and look forward to the day when all hospitals will match this standard.”

To see Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center’s scores as they compare nationally and locally, visit the Hospital Safety Score website at www.hospitalsafetyscore.org, which also provides information on how the public can protect themselves and loved ones during a hospital stay.

Calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s nine-member Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, the Hospital Safety Score uses 26 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries, and medical and medication errors.
