Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is one of the first hospitals in Palm Beach County offering minimally invasive heart surgery as a treatment option for patients suffering from heart valve disease. Unlike traditional open heart surgery where the breast bone needs to be surgically separated, minimally invasive valve surgery is performed through a small incision between the ribs.

Tenet's Palm Beach County hospitals to participate in Healthy over Hungry 2018 cereal drive

Jun 1, 2018

Because Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Vacation

Delray Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and West Boca Medical Center are leading a community effort to provide area children and adults struggling with hunger with a healthy breakfast during the summer through its Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive. The drive kicks off Friday, June 1 and runs through Friday, June 8.

The hospitals are partnering with the following organizations:

Delray Medical Center: CROS Ministries-Food Pantry
Good Samaritan Medical Center: Feeding South Florida
Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center: Feeding South Florida
St. Mary’s Medical Center: Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County
West Boca Medical Center: Boca Helping Hands

“We understand the health issues children face from hunger and poor nutrition,” said Mark Bryan, regional chief executive officer of Tenet’s Palm Beach County hospitals. “We recognize the importance of beginning each day with a nutritious breakfast and, through this drive, we hope to help the many in our community struggling with food insecurity. We invite you to help kids be Healthy Over Hungry® this summer.”

Whole-grain cereal, when part of a healthy, balanced breakfast including dairy, fruit and lean protein, is a popular food item that experts say can easily address the hunger gap during the summer months when children are not in school.

Donations of healthy cereal to the Healthy Over Hungry® Cereal Drive will be collected from June 1 through June 8 at each of the hospitals or to provide a financial donation for perishable breakfast items, please visit https://www.tenethealth.com/about/giving-back. All financial donations made during our campaign will be matched by the hospital’s parent company, Tenet Healthcare, up to $100,000.
