Dr. Matthew Klein interviewed live on WPTV discussing Damar Hamlin suffering cardiac arrest

Jan 11, 2023
On Monday night, Buffalo Bills safety Demar Hamlin went for a tackle against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin at first appeared okay, standing up.  Immediately, he collapsed backwards, appearing lifeless.  We would later learn his heart stopped.  He received CPR and defibrillation on the field, which got his heart pumping again, getting badly needed oxygen to his brain. The game was suspended as everyone’s focus turned to Hamlin’s health, who has been at an area hospital ever since.

Dr. Matthew Klein, a cardiac electrophysiologist on staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Good Samaritan Medical Center, joined WPTV's 6pm newscast live to discuss what we were able to learn from the horrifying video and the likely cause of Hamlin’s cardiac arrest.
