Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (December 1st, 2017) – Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center promotes Alex Masmela to the position of chief operating officer.  In this role, he will manage daily operations and oversee the development and implementation of long-range plans, goals and objectives for the hospital.

Prior to being named COO, Masmela served as the Assistant Administrator for Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.  His responsibilities included assisting the clinical, financial, and administrative operations at the hospital. In addition, he oversaw the day-to-day operations for environmental services, food and nutrition and the security department.

Prior to being an assistant administrator, Masmela was the Administrative Director of the Emergency Department at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.  In that role, he managed all clinical, strategic, budgetary, and administrative operations for the 24 bed ED.  

Masmela earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Adelphi University in New York.  He then went on to earn an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
