Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. - March 12th 2019 - Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is now offering new hope for men suffering from erectile dysfunction with the availability of a new penile implant program. Penile implants are an option when other, less invasive treatments for erection problems have not been successful, and further treatment is desired.

“Our goal is to tailor our offerings to be able to care for all aspects of an individual’s healthcare needs,” said Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center CEO, Teresa Urquhart. “This new program is designed in doing just that.”

An inflatable penile prosthesis is an implantable device used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Penile implants may be appropriate treatment for men who have erection problems caused by:

  • Diabetes
  • Pelvic surgery
  • Blood vessel disease
  • Injury to the pelvis, genitals, or spinal cord
  • Peyronie's disease, a curvature of the penis caused by scar tissue.

“While the topic of erectile dysfunction may have been taboo in the past, it is important for men to talk to their doctor, as this procedure can be truly life-changing treatment option,” said Dr. Sean Sawh. “When the medical conditions are appropriate, penile implants offer a new opportunity for men to enjoy all aspects of healthy interactions with their partner, which can greatly enhance their relationship.”
