Pilot who had life saving surgery at PBGMC hopes to get back in the air soon

Oct 19, 2022

Back in May, pilot Ken Allen suffered a tear in his aorta midair over the Atlantic Ocean. A passenger with no flight experience landed the plane safely at Palm Beach International. After being transferred from fellow Palm Beach Health Network hospital, St. Mary's Medical Center, to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Allen had a 9-hour surgery performed by cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Nishant Patel.

Today, Allen is healthy and wants to fly again soon.

Recently, he asked the FAA for medical clearance to fly again.

Here is the piece NewsNation did on this incredible update.
