Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Appoints New Emergency Department Director

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (July 12, 2016) – Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center welcomes Christy Wise as its new emergency department director. In her new role, Wise will be responsible for managing clinical nursing staff and administrative planning for emergency services.
Wise most recently served as the clinical manager of the emergency department at another Tenet hospital, West Boca Medical Center, where she was responsible for managing clinical staff and assisted in developing hospital-wide disaster policies and procedures. Among her many achievements as clinical manager, she implemented best practice care processes, which led to an increase in emergency department patient satisfaction scores by 7 percent in one year.
“Christy’s years of clinical and management experience in the emergency department will be a great asset to our hospital-wide effort to continuously improve patient safety and care,” said Jeffrey M. Welch, hospital CEO. “She is a proven leader and mentor, and we are excited to welcome her to the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center family.
Wise has spent the majority of her 20-year nursing career at Tenet Healthcare, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center’s parent company. She started in 2000 as a registered nurse at Delray Medical Center, also a Tenet hospital, before working her way up to assistant nurse manager and then interim clinical nurse manager within the emergency department. Wise later served as a relief staff registered nurse at three other Tenet hospitals: Good Samaritan Medical Center, Florida Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center.
Wise earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and completed her critical care residency in emergency nursing at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She is also a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.
