Cardiac Rehab

Being told there is something wrong with your heart is scary. We know you’re looking to get well and avoid having to face another issue. Our team of heart specialists can help you try to keep your heart healthy through our medically supervised cardiac rehabilitation program.

At the Heart & Vascular Institute, we’re proud to have a program that allows for continuity of care from diagnosis to treatment and recovery. Our team strives to stabilize, slow or even reverse the progression of cardiovascular disease by addressing your physical, mental and social health. We will focus on exercise, nutrition, behavior modification, counseling and education to teach you more about heart health.

After being discharged from the hospital, many patients begin a 12-week outpatient program that consists of three, one-hour sessions per week. Our Rehab Center is supervised by registered nurses with a focus on cardiac care. You will never be left alone to worry about whether an activity is safe. These nurses will always be by your side to monitor your heart before, during and after exercise.

Your doctor will need to refer you to our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Some people we typically work with are recovering from:

  • Heart attack
  • Stable angina
  • Coronary artery bypass graft(s)
  • Angioplasty or stent
  • Heart valve repair or replacement
  • Heart transplant
